Winter Vacation in the Holiday Region around the Olympic city of Innsbruck

From our Gasthof Stollhofer in Inzing it is only a few minutes' drive to the most beautiful ski areas in Tyrol. The ski bus stop is in the immediate vicinity of our house.

Some ski areas (less than 15 km away) are the Rangger Köpfl (Oberperfuss), Seefeld or the Axamer Lizum or (from 20 km away) the Kühtai, the Stubaital, the Patscherkofel and the Nordkette in Innsbruck.

Many cross-country ski trails in the area also make our region a cross-country skiing paradise.

Non-skiers can relax on long winter walks or on romantic snowshoe hikes in an idyllic Tyrolean winter landscape.

If you are with us at Christmas time you should definitely plan a visit to the Innsbruck Christmas markets.

And in January, the Bergisel Ski Jumping event is on the program, also a unique experience that you shouldn't miss - if you have the opportunity.

Traditional Christmas Markets

If you are with us at Christmas time you should definitely plan a visit to the Innsbruck Christmas markets.

The Christmas season in Innsbruck's old town is traditional, romantic and atmospheric. Directly in front of the Golden Roof, the stalls of the Christmas market are nestled next to the medieval houses.

Join the crowd and enjoy mulled wine and hot punch specialties. The 70 stalls are a treasure trove of Christmas tree decorations, handicrafts, woolen goods and souvenirs.

Right in the middle of a Winter Wonderland

You can experience a peaceful winter idyll on walks through fairytale landscapes. Winter hiking is comfortable: on cleared or prepared paths and without too much of an incline. Sturdy shoes and warm clothing are the only equipment you need. There are many suitable winter hiking routes around Innsbruck. They provide insights into a romantic winter landscape, snow-covered forests and sugar-coated mountain peaks. The paths are also suitable for families with children. They offer a nice contrast to skiing. And: When the weather is right, you can get a good dose of winter sun.
